Voice Your Choice in the Only National Book Awards Chosen by Kids!

Guest post from our partner, Every Child a Reader.

Educators, it’s time for your students to vote! Every Child a Reader wants kids and teens to choose the winners of 11th annual Children’s & Teen Choice Book Awards—the only national book awards chosen by kids! We have tons of cool voting resources online, from ballots and award badges to logos and voting booth banners. Take a look and help your students “voice their choice” before May 6th (the last day of Children’s Book Week—celebrating its 99th year)!

There are a total of 20 finalists this year (all available on the First Book Marketplace), spread across four different age-specific categories, so kids all the way from kindergarten to high school can participate. We’ve also put together a resource guide with activities for every grade to help with classroom discussion. Let us know how you use them and what you think!

We’ll announce the winners on May 30th. Follow #CCBA18 on social media for up-to-the-minute updates—and use it to share your work with us!

You can learn more about us (Every Child a Reader) here, and some of our other programs, like Get Caught Reading and the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature (this year it’s Jacqueline Woodson!)—but most importantly, don’t forget to vote!
