Our 4th Annual Give a Million Holiday Fundraising Campaign
This holiday season, we want to give 1 million new, high-quality books to children in need. This year marks the fourth year of Give a Million, our end-of-year fundraising campaign that runs through December 31. We set an ambitious goal of getting 1 million new, high-quality books to children in low-income communities this holiday season.
As educators face continued challenges relating to the pandemic, their top funding priority is investing in books, with an overwhelming 99% of educators in the First Book Network prioritizing books for the students they serve in their own classroom or program.
From November 1 through December 31, donations can be made towards this campaign. On select First Book “Match Days”, the impact of donations will be maximized by First Book friends and partners who are doubling the impact of each donation.
“First Book means family to me.” For educators like Ro Menendez, your support means so much to her and the kids she serves. All year long, your generosity allows Ro, and over 550,000 educators like her, to provide the books, resources, toys, tools, and supplies kids need to learn, grow, and imagine.
First Book’s #GiveAMillion campaign begins November 1 with the ambitious goal of getting 1 million books to kids in need by the end of the year. Helps us give the gift of books this season.
How it Works
Every year, First Book works with donors, partners, and organizations to give back to the community and bring books to children in need during the holiday season. For many of the children we serve, the book received during Give a Million may be their first book or the only gift they will receive.
Give a Million officially begins November 1 and ends at midnight on December 31. Throughout the campaign, we will alert all donors, followers, and fans about the special match days where every dollar donated will be matched by a generous partner.
Help First Book deliver a million books to children in low-income communities this holiday season.
For many kids, it will be the first book they have ever owned or the only gift they will receive during the holidays. The sense of self-esteem that comes, and the fact that it also furthers their academic possibilities, make the gift of a book invaluable.
