Read by 4th, Philly Book Bank, & Literacy and More

Since 2022, First Book has partnered with Read By 4th, the Philly Book Bank, and Literacy and More to implement Philly Book Wish, a program designed to meet urgent reading and educational needs in Philadelphia. Funded by a generous multi-year grant, Philly Book Wish collaborates with local organizations to identify educational barriers, address resource gaps, and strengthen community outreach. First Book supports Philly Book Wish by helping organize, run, and evaluate the program.  Through this collective partnership, Philly Book Wish has awarded subgrants to nearly 150 local organizations, ensuring that more children and families across Philadelphia have the books and resources they need to build strong reading skills.
