Pi Phi Beta

Since 2007, First Book and Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women have partnered to support the Fraternity’s Read > Lead > Achieve® efforts, which aim to inspire a lifelong love of reading that can unlock true potential, creating a more literate and productive society. First Book supports Pi Beta Phi with its annual Fraternity Day of Service Signature Events, through which Pi Beta Phi volunteers lead large-scale book distributions that positively impact communities across the country, as well as its Literacy Grant Program, which distributes $150,000 in funding to educators and community organizations annually. Some standout moments of the partnership include supporting literacy efforts on Maui after the devastating wildfires in 2023, collaborating during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure First Book delivered much-needed books and resources during uncertain times, and distributing more than four million books to date.
