Mary Pope Osborne

Since 2012, First Book has partnered with bestselling author Mary Pope Osborne and her Classroom Adventures Program to spark a love of reading and learning with the Magic Tree House book series. Through this collaboration, Mary provides funding that enables the First Book Network to access these beloved titles through the First Book Marketplace, supporting educators with resources to meet classroom needs in creative, meaningful, and long-lasting ways. Together, First Book and Mary’s Classroom Adventures Program have provided over 1.1 million books and awarded grants to over 1,000 educators, summer program leaders, and nonprofits, helping countless children gain access to engaging, high-quality books. Mary Pope Osborne’s Classroom Adventures Program is designed to help educators find creative ways to engage and encourage their students while meeting curriculum standards. All program resources are free and include individual lesson plans for every MTH book and nonfiction Fact Tracker, and a comprehensive Curriculum Key that aligns each MTH title with classroom subjects, curriculum standards, and character-building lessons.
