New York Life Foundation

New York Life Foundation believes that nobody grieves alone. Since 2018, First Book and the New York Life Foundation have increased awareness of access to bereavement books and resources, creating original, age-appropriate conversation guides for educators serving children experiencing grief, loss, and healing. Together, we proactively bridge the gaps in grief support and awareness within school communities by creating a range of initiatives aimed at providing meaningful tools and resources for educators, parents, and students. For example, we deploy “Rapid Response” funds to communities nationwide in the wake of community-wide tragedies, such as mass shootings, empowering educators to select the books and resources that their students need most in the face of unimaginable times.

Every day, dedicated teachers pour their hearts into classrooms with too few resources to help eager minds learn. Your gift by May 31 will be DOUBLED to bring joy through new books that ignite imagination and transform young lives. Will you be their champion today?" Beneath the image is a red button that says, "I'll give now".
