MLK, The Obamas & First Book

“Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Every year, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day presents us with an opportunity to renew our commitment to serving our communities.

Yesterday, President Obama, Michelle Obama and First Book helped to refurbish a local elementary school library in Washington DC.  Together with a large group of volunteers, they cleaned, painted and organized 600 books donated to the school by First Book.

First Book was pleased to be a part of the First Family’s Day of Service.
