National Grid

Since 2017, First Book and National Grid have provided brand-new, diverse books and STEM resources to key communities in New York and Massachusetts. National Grid is committed to having a positive impact on the environment and ensuring no one in our communities gets left behind as we work towards a clean, fair and affordable energy future. Through our strategic partnership, National Grid expands its reach to connect with young people who can greatly benefit from these programs. In 2023, National Grid served as a sponsor of First Book’s #BlackBooksAllYear initiative, funding the purchase of books on Black history, characters, and culture for the First Book Network. Starting in 2024, we’re expanding our focus on Diversity in STEM, bringing books and National Grid employees into middle and high school classrooms to inspire young minds about diverse careers in STEM fields.

graphic with text that says: "Double Your Impact to Help Give a Million Books! Help give a million books to kids in low-income communities this holiday season and beyond. The book you send may be the only holiday gift a child gets, and helping a child love books makes a lasting difference. Give by December 31 to double your impact through a Matching Challenge Fund from our generous friends at Pizza Hut — twice as many books with a single gift!" There is a red donation button in the lower right corner. On the left side of the graphic is an image of a young girl holding up a book and smiling.
