What is the National Book Bank? 

First Book members can access brand new books by the carton from the Book Bank for only the cost of shipping and handling. All brand-new books and educational resources in this section were generously donated by our publishing partners and are ideal for members with limited budgets, high quantity needs, greater flexibility around content, and book enthusiasts!  

How Do I Access the Book Bank?  

The First Book National Book Bank and Marketplace have merged onto the same website, so you can find free books throughout the website. You can also select Book Bank in the navigation to browse only Book Bank books. 

How Does the Book Bank Work? 

For your convenience, the Book Bank was integrated within the Marketplace so you don’t have to check out twice! Book Bank items will appear while you search or browse sections across the website. 

If you have Book Bank items in your cart, you will see a flat shipping fee of $0 at checkout, as the amount marked You Pay reflects the cost of shipping and handling for Book Bank cartons. However, if you have any items in your cart from other Marketplace categories and your order is under $25, you will see a flat rate shipping fee of $7.50 applied to your order. All orders with a subtotal of $25 or more ship free. 

Book Bank items will ship within 3-14 business days, the same time frame as First Book Marketplace books! If you need your books faster, you can expedite Book Bank cartons! The cost will be $0.45 per book for 2-day shipping or $0.65 per book for overnight shipping. 

Are There More Free Books? 

First Book members can also access a free digital library of eBooks for kids and families they serve by ordering access codes for the Open eBooks app. Through Open eBooks, kids and families can access thousands of popular and award-winning eBooks! The free iOS and Android app allow instant downloads of up to 10 eBooks at a time to mobile digital devices or Chromebook.
