Creating Resources for Appalachian Ohio
First Book and the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio are partnering to grow resources for today’s citizens of Appalachian Ohio, as well as for generations to come.
With generous funding support from AEP Ohio, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and First Book will help support the region by:
- Connecting educators and providers across Appalachia to First Book – to provide sustainable access to free and low-cost books and resources
- Sharing valuable resources designed to help educators and care providers better understand and support children suffering from trauma
- Hosting in-person community “town-hall” meetings with key community thought leaders and stakeholders to identify and better understand what educators need
- Promoting awareness of the value of being a part of a larger network helping to shape the types and quality of resources for children in need
Together, the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio and First Book are making a difference for the children of this region, and the adults who serve them.
