Reading with the Oakland Raiders

Last week we joined the Oakland Raiders’ defensive line and Fam1st Family Foundation in hosting a reading party at West Oakland Community Center in Oakland, California.

Clinton McDonald, Kyle Weber, Emmanuel Lamur, Frostee Rucker, Ryan Yurachek, and Johnny Townsend‏ joined community kids for a story time and book giveaway.

Literacy champion and defensive end Clinton McDonald helped organize the event through his Light In the Darkness Foundation.

He revealed the shoes he’d wear during an upcoming home game to increase awareness for our mission through the NFL’s Cleats for a Cause campaign.

He & his teammates also gathered with groups of kids & read the picture book Tiger in my Soup.

… And every child at the reading party brought home 2 books of their own!

THANK YOU to the whole team for being inspiring kids both on and off the field!
